Review of Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

Hey everyone! Happy hump day again! Finally right?! We are going camping with our friends this weekend so I am basically counting down minutes this week!

So since I have been crazy busy (I have never been so glad that I didn’t take summer classes) I am a bit behind and again find myself trying to decide what I should write for today’s random post  but then…. The amazing friend came to my rescue again!! You may recall her from the logo making and she is back at saving me! (I am working on maybe 5 hours of sleep and a lot of rockstar so if I don’t make sense maybe just roll with it)
My amazing friend said I should do product reviews on Wednesdays and I thought “that is amazing! For the future because I don’t have anything to really write about”*Que the need for a response so I can hear what awesome book stuff you guys want reviewed! and then she said “what about that movie you just saw!” and boom! here we are, getting ready to talk about Me Before You… the MOVIE!! And a little bit about the book too because lets face it, that was simply amazing!

They had nothing in common until love gave them everything to lose . . .

Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has barely been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex–Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.

Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.

The fun thing with this movie is that the author, Jojo Moyes, also got to write the screenplay! I always admire someone who can not only write such an amazing book but then comes out with a screenplay that not only stays true to the story but manages to also be amazing! I will admit that I am often the lady in the theater pointing out things that were missed or not done correctly in the movie adaption (ask my husband, he loves this) but I can honestly say this time I did not even feel tempted to make one comment! The movie was excellent and served the book well by bringing all of our favorite characters to life on the big screen! Make sure you bring tissues with you because just like the book- the emotions are so crazy! And the casting was pretty on point too. Emilia Clark stars as Lou and just knocks it out of the park! She brings the crazily dressed and spunky Lou to life in a way that really endures you to her ❤ Will Traynor is played by Sam Claflin and does a great job of pulling on your heart strings. But if I can be honest Steven Peacocke, cast as Nathan who is Will’s murse (man nurse- I am a brat) was a beautiful choice that women around the world can rejoice in!

Overall I will confidently give this amazing movie and the original book a solid 5stars. Labeled as an instant classic this book really shines. I for one cannot wait to start on Me After You!
