Review of A Sky Full of Secrets by Briana Pacheco

Hey, you cute word nerds you! I hope everyone is having a fabulous day!

So I found Briana Pacheco randomly in another author group on FB and saw that she not only has the same first name but she spells it the same way too! And then she told me she wrote a book. Well, obviously I have to read this book because we are name twins right?! And then I saw the cover! It is absolutely stunning! So basically I was sold all around. This happened like forever ago and I got distracted while this beautiful book waited on my kindle patiently for me.

First of all- this story is so sweet. Phoenix is the kind of romantic that everyone loves to read about. He’s superstar nerdy which I loved, he secretly loves love (I think really it’s just a secret to himself haha), and he is an all-around nice guy. Swoon!

Oh, Luna. I really do like her. She is spunky and funny. I absolutely love characters like that! I wish that there was less focus on her love of sex. Don’t get me wrong- that in itself was not the issue. It just felt like it was overly brought up just in case we forgot her love of sex. Really I think that for the most part though Briana did a really good job of showing how Luna used sex as a shield because of so many jerks in her life before. It really did round out Luna and explain how she handled the life she was living. Poor Luna! I just wanted to yell at her “stop listening to jerks! Kick those people out of your life!!” Becuase she really did deserve better.

I think that with some more editing this book would be amazing. There were just a lot of little errors that kept pulling me out of the story but that does not take away from the fact that Briana wrote a good story. With the sex obsession and the minor grammatical errors being cleaned up I think that this book would go over the top. I can’t wait to read more by Briana Pacheco and see how her work progresses! Be sure to check this book out and let me know what you think!

Months after getting kicked out of college my senior year, I made a split decision and moved in with my best friend and his roommate, Nix.

I never thought I’d try the whole ‘friends with benefits’ thing with Phoenix, but he didn’t seem to mind when I offered up the idea.

We promised no feelings would get involved.

We lied to each other, to ourselves.

In his eyes, I wasn’t just the deaf girl or the family burden. I was beautiful and smart and a bit crazy with some anger issues which he overlooked because to him, I was normal.

We were never supposed to be more, but you can’t fight that pull when the stars align.

We are fire and water.

Stars and the moon.

Phoenix and Luna.

This is the story of how a man who loves everything showed a girl how to love herself.
